1916? 2017? This morning's early Saturday walk in Dublin to find the Book of Kells, was quickly overshadowed by the gravitas of the morning headlines from America and a poignant reminder in the Long Room of the Easter Rising and the age-old quest for Irish self-determination. Oppression, discrimination, and the necessity to get involved and help those at risk are issues confronting us all this morning. I stopped short at one of the few remaining copies of The Proclamation of 1916.
This time, like that one, is suddenly at boiling-point for the self-determination of so many diverse populations in the US and around the world.
"The Republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts, cherishing all of the children of the nation equally..."
Stirring then...stirring now.
At VeraCloud we too celebrate and work to foster equal rights and equal opportunities for all citizens.
